We all come from different backgrounds, but the
one thing we all have in common is our love for creating beauty through the
craft of landscape design, plant knowledge and helping people bring the
garden home. Allan and Mike make up the landscaping crew. With their
vision and expertise, Vision Landscape is one of finest water feature
experts on the Olympic Peninsula.
Claire, Amber,
Sally, Ian, and Parker, work in concert at the ever popular
Vision Nursery.
Opened in 2000, it is a favorite shopping point for locals and visitors.
All are welcome to view the
spectacular water features, seasonal displays, shop in the enchanting garden
nursery, pick up
a hard to find perennial, or just stroll through our beautiful landscaped
nursery.

I moved to the Peninsula in 1985 from McMinnville,
Oregon. With a love of gardening and landscapes I started Vision Landscape in
1989 with focus on design and installation. Seeing the need for a botanical
garden based nursery, I decided to start Vision Landscape Nursery in 2000.
My dream was to give people a place to relax while being surrounded by
different garden displays and water features.

Claire Bernards

Claire was
an elementary school teacher until she met her sweetheart, Allan in 1998. He
shared with her his dream to start a nursery, that would
complement his successful landscaping business. Claire, being an
enthusiastic gardener thought this sounded pretty fabulous. She decided to retire from teaching to open up Vision Nursery
in 2000. Through her personal experience with plants and her research
abilities,
she learned (and continues to learn) so much about flowers, plants, trees,
shrubs, and the people who love them. She is a big animal lover and dedicates
many events and dollars to support local animal welfare groups on the Olympic
Peninsula. Claire invites you to please look into supporting: Peninsula Friends of the Animals,
Welfare for Animals Guild, Clallam County Humane Society, and the Raptor
Center. |

Amber Blume

Amber is going
into her 4th year at Vision Nursery. She really enjoys working with plants
and has learned a lot over the years. When she's not working she spends her
time backpacking in the Olympics, traveling, being with her friends and
family and of course her dogs. At the nursery Amber excels at putting
together seasonal containers, plant displays and making moss hanging
baskets. |

I joined the Vision
Nursery team in the fall of 2005. I pretty much keep things looking
great around here whether it is the nursery or in the display gardens.
I’m the man when it comes to potting up perennials, trees and shrubs.
The agriculture and horticulture classes in high school got me interested in
pursuing this kind of work. Being outside, along with the physical
work is a definite benefit to working at Vision Nursery. My interests
are listening to good music, helping bands out by promoting them, caring for
and riding horses, and writing poems and stories. Someday I would like
to visit Japan.

Sally
joined Vision in April of 2006. Originally from the east coast, she
immediately fell in love with western Washington’s exuberance for gardening,
even in winter. Her love for design and beauty in landscaping complement a
long and varied association with professional theatre.
Currently, Sally is developing the new and expanding wholesale department at Vision,
which includes the latest and greatest inventory located in the newly
constructed green house. Sally loves walking the woods trails, cycling the
islands, collecting plants, and fishing the streams. She also enjoys
fine craftsmanship
and visiting prominent regional Japanese gardens. |

Mike Gray |

Mike Gray relocated to the Sequim area from the
high desert of California in 2006. Retiring from work that used every brain
cell to triathlon levels, he is now working that creative right side in
concert with the problem-solving ability and basic brilliance he brings to
all situations. Mike has a great sense of humor and an uplifting presence.
All the water features he works on seem to sparkle just a little bit more
when he's done with them. |

I relocated with my family to Sequim in the spring of 2008. I have a
B.S. in Ornamental Horticulture from Washington State University and years
of experience in the horticultural field. I have been an avid gardener
and plant collector since high school, and now I specialize in xeriscaping
and low maintenance garden design. I enjoy traveling to observe,
photograph, and learn about plants from other parts of the world. In
my spare time, I enjoy playing the piano, eating pizza, and hanging out with
my family. Right now I am working on writing a book about some of my
favorite plants. |
